Hello Beautiful People,
It’s hard to believe that four months have passed since I began writing of sound and fury. Thank you so much to those who have subscribed, liked, commented, and unbelievably, pledged in support of my shenanigans. I really hope that this little journal-like-playground of mine entertains and brings some joy to your life.
UPDATE
I’ve made excellent progress on the DAT Tape Project. The machine is working beautifully and the tapes are holding up and sounding sweet. I’ve logged nine of the thirty-one tapes. There were thirty-nine demo tracks created for the first three albums.
Thirteen for the album III
Eleven for the album Positive
Six for the album The Grassy Knoll
Nine unreleased tracks
What’s next? Well, I gotta transfer the demo tracks into Logic, master each track with Izotope’s Ozone, and export the final files. Then the real fun begins—compiling the tracks into some sort of release on Bandcamp. Stay tuned.
DRAWING
In the last newsletter I shared my burning desire to become the greatest sketch artist the universe has ever seen. Well, I’ve made some progress but at this point my dog makes better art during her daily walks. Please allow me to wow you.
Speaking of drawing, here is some epic news for parents and kids. The beloved online drawing show Draw Together with WendyMac is now available as a dynamic, multimedia learning program for classrooms around the USA. Research‐based, totally fun, and adaptable for ages 4 and up.
is bringing art and social emotional learning to classrooms and libraries for free. If you are a parent or educator please check out this program. I bet if I would’ve had access to a program like this when I was a little brat, I wouldn’t suck so hard at drawing now!DEALING WITH DOUBT
My buddy Dave Hill Jr. released his book Doubt Riding Shotgun. Dave’s we-teach-what we-need-to-learn approach makes for a humble and engaging read. Everything you need to know about doubt and how to use doubt to your advantage are in these pages.
The voices that tell us, “You’re not good enough” “You’re an imposter” “You will never be like those you envy”. He tells us to make friends with that voice, that doubt, and to find the freedom in loving all parts of ourselves, even those we feel shameful about. He writes with passion and compassion for the reader.
